Emily inspired the guests with the story of Georgia’s Rebecca Latimer Felton, the first woman Senator who served only a day in 1922 and made history with her remarks on the Senate floor.  Looking to the day when elected female Senators would follow her, she told the Senators:  “when the women of the country come in and sit with you . . . you will get ability, you will get integrity of purpose, you will get exalted patriotism, and you will get unstinted usefulness."

Register to vote and when the doors are open in elections, turn out. Gain financial savvy. Keep your sense of humor.
